Patent Preparation and Prosecution
Michael’s practice focuses on preparation and prosecution of patent applications, principally involving computer and communication technologies.
Michael’s areas of technical expertise include processor and computer system architecture, wireless communication systems, medical information systems, automotive and embedded microcontroller systems.
Prior to joining Larson Newman, Michael served as a technical advisor at a substantial Austin-based patent preparation and prosecution law firm, and as patent disclosure manager at a multinational semiconductor and communications firm in support of the intellectual property legal department. He has over 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, where he specialized in microprocessor design and software development. Michael has additional experience in the medical device industry, where he worked on FDA 510(k) approvals and medical safety certifications, and the satellite communication industry. He is co-inventor on nine U.S. patents.
